Inspired by the Eighteenth century tombstones of Dutch farmers found throughout the Old Dutch Burying Ground in Sleepy Hollow, NY (yes the same burying ground found in Washington Irving’s, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow) 🌿 Most of the existing eighteenth century tombstones in the cemetery are made of reddish-brown sandstone carved with soul effigies. It symbolizes the passage of the soul to heaven 🌿
